St. Patrick Academy: a rigorous curriculum and homeschool flexibility with in-classroom experience
As the St. Patrick Academy founders are busy behind the scenes, getting ready for the next school year, and taking applications for students to enroll in the Academy…I came across a post from a Kolbe Academy parent and wanted to share it with you.
At St. Patrick Academy, it will never be our mission to slam or put down public education or any of the other choices out there. But I can personally relate to her struggles of some of the “holes” in public education. I feel her pain.
I know, for my family personally, I experienced something similar during Covid. My son, Paxton did a public school home school option for 6th grade because he didn’t want to wear a mask. As a working parent, I felt the guilt of leaving him to try to learn and “study” by himself.
It didn’t take long to realize these study skills were lacking. He is a bright kid, that’s not the issue. But I feel like, with large class sizes in public school, he adapted to “flying under the radar” where he didn’t get in trouble. He also got very good at not shining too brightly and went unnoticed most of the time. Does that make sense?
What we’re excited about for St. Patrick Academy, is the rigorous curriculum, homeschool flexibility with in-classroom experience. Our kids will not go unnoticed. If they’re struggling, we’ll have enough qualified, quality staff to help them. If they’re gifted or extraordinary, we’ll make sure they’re stretched and pushed to excel. Good things are coming with the opening of St. Patrick Academy. Stay tuned!
